HUGE SHAKESPEARE BOOK.
At Stratford-on-Avon a huge book has been installed in the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre Library. It is the record of the American Shakespeare Fund, and contains the names, and, in many cases, the actual signatures, of approximately 2000 American subscribers who responded so generously to the appeal of the American Shakespeare Foundation for funds for the building of the new Memorial Theatre. There are many famous names in the book, which weighs about 2cwt., and is supported on a substantial easel. It is nearly sft. high, and is Bft. across the pages when fully opened.
Mahatma Gandhi’s autobiography will be published shortly by Allen and Unwin.
