I’m taking my red pen with me, though it should stay at home and ! rest; But it wants to travel and see the world—it likes that far the best; ’ And it’s so excited and anxious to be packed in my small red bag, That it’s racing wildly across the page, and simply will not lag; And the writing’s truly dreadful—the rhythm’s not all-it-might-be, ] But my naughty pen doesn’t mind a scrap—not it, because, you see, * It is going holiday-making—Holiday-Making with Me! It’s so hard to write in rhythm and rhyme with an excited pen; ] There!—lt’s made a great big blot! and I’m scared it will do it again! ’ I must make my letter very short, because I've such lots to do, Before I can close my writing-room and go a-travelling, too. ! Here are some new Competitions, real ] Puzzlers, to solve if you can. jtr 1 Love to you all, little people, from YOUR VERY OWN * ' ' P-S.—l wish to thank “A Mother who Enjoys Reading the Children’s 1 Page” for the five lovely little Scrap-Books she sent for our !
