TO PROTECT THE PAINTWORK.

The paint of a car is often damaged by the nozzle of a petrol pump, and sometimes by the fuel splashing over it; also it usually takes off the sheen which often has been obtained only by assidious polishing. It is a good plan to obtain a stout piece of felt (a pad such.as used underneath a typewriter), and cut a hole in it to fit over the petrol filler. This will not only prevent damage, but will also absorb any petrol which is splashed about and help to preserve the finish.
