A slight cyclone is moitog across the Cook Strait area. A rather deep depression of the westerly type still covers the south Tasman Sea. Expect winds variable at first about Cook Strait, but otherwise north-easterly to northerly winds, moderate to strong generally. Seas rather rough to rough generally, and rising south of Cape Egmont. Weather still unsettled, with further rain in most districts, and some heavy falls about Cook Strait. Temperatures mild.
