PERSONAL.
Dr. Talbot is at present at Opuha, Pleasant Point. Dr. J. B. Condliffe, formerly professor of economics at Canterbury College, and now on the staff of the Institute of Pacific Relations, is at present in Moscow endeavouring to establish a branch of the institute in Russia. He has been invited to spend a year as visiting professor at the University of Michigan. Commander G. W. T. Robertson, who has been in command of H.M.S. sloop Veronica since September, 1928, finishes his commission on the station in a week or so, and will be succeeded by Commander H. L. Morgan, now on his way out from the Old Country. Lieutenant-Commander R. M. Spencer, first lieutenant of the sloop, Lieutenant A. J. Baker-Cresswell, navigating officer, and Sub-Lieutenant C. P. Wade have also put in two years’ service, and will be returning to England at the same time as the Commander.
