Walker, a member of the Petone Rugby Club’s senior team, has accepted an engagement to play League football in England. It is understood that the offer came from Huddersfield, and that the amount was quite substantial. OTAGO V. SOUTH CANTERBURY. Rugby enthusiasts are looking forward to the visit on Saturday of the Otago representative team, which is to play its annual game with South Canterbury. The match is the most important game of the current season in South Canterbury, apart from the British team’s visit. In the past South Canterbury teams have displayed some of their best form against Dunedin players, and it is expected that another close contest will be witnessed.
