AMBITIOUS AIRMAN.
LONDON TO AFRICA IN FEW HOURS. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—CoDyrlght (Received August 20, 7.5 p.m.) LONDON, August 19. Captain Barnard, who recently flew to Malta and back in 26 i hours, now aspires to breakfast in London and dinner in Africa. He has provisionally arranged to fly the 1700 miles to Tangier from London on Friday, and hopes to return, the total flying time being 22 hours. He points out that the Malta flight proved that it was possible to avoid landing air mall machines going to India and to Australia on foreign territory, so the Tangier flight will solve a similar problem for air mails to the West Coast of Africa, Tangier being an international port.
