A LARGE ESTATE.
LATE MR G. E. FAIRFAX. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received August 20th, 8.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 20. The New South Wales estate of the late Mr G. E. Fairfax, chairman of directors of John Fairfax and Sons, proprietors of the “Sydney Morning Herald,” is valued at £747,937, which is subject to certain charitable bequests, is to be equally divided between the testator’s brothers, Mr John Hubert Fairfax, Dr. Edward W. Fairfax, his sister Mary Fairfax, and a nephew, Mr Warwick Oswald Fairfax. The testator’s shares in the “Sydney Morning Herald” are disposed of in a similar manner. The charitable bequests include £IOOO to each of the three chief Sydney Hospitals; £SOO each to the Sailors’ Home and Royal Naval House.
