THE LIBRARY STAIRS.
To the Editor of the '* Tfmaru Herald.” Sir, —In common with many others I was very pleased to see the Women’s Citizens are desirous of suggesting a handrail for the staircase at the Public Library, as even young people tell me they find it an awkward one to negotiate. Would it be possible to transfer the Library to downstairs? This is merely a suggestion. Visitors from the larger centres consider it is an excellent one and capably managed. We wish, however, it was somewhat easier of access. I am, etc. ELDERLY READER. Timaru, August 20, 1930.
