FISH RESEARCH.
REPORT OF COMMITTEE. By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, August 19. The New Zealand Fresh Water Fisheries Research Committee met to-day. Professor Percival presented a report on the progress of the work, which stated that Mr A. W. Parrott, biologist to the Committee, was continuing his study of the life history of trout and the bully. It was decided to postpone until March of next year the appointment of a biologist to replace Captain Phillips, whose three years’ appointment with the Wellington Acclimatisation Society has expired. A finarfeial statement showed a credit balance of over £BOO, ■which it was stated would enable the Committee to build up a small reserve fund. It was decided to start tagging operations among trout on a large scale next summer.
