SYDNEY BANDITS.
TWO CITIZENS SHOT. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, August 14. Two men were shot by a bandit, who entered the Clyde Junction Railway Station late last night. The robber demanded the money bags from an officer. The latter refused and grappled with the intruder. He was, however, shot in the arm, and the bandit escaped, nothing being stolen. A passer-by endeavoured to intercept the man, and was shot in the stomach before the eyes of his horrified wife. The victims are:— James Player, aged 24, booking clerk. William Galloway, aged 26. A strong police cordon was drawn around the district, and a man has been detained.
