THE WEATHER.
Dominion Meteorologist. A moderate anti-cyclone covers New Zealand, but a deep depression passed Hobart yesterday evening, and is likely to affect the western and southern portions of the Dominion shortly. Winds, northerly light to moderate at first, but freshening shortly. Seas smooth to moderate, but rising tomorrow south of Cape Egmont. Tasman Sea. moderate to strong northerly winds and moderate but rising seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Weather fine generally at first, with cool night temperatures; cloudy conditions developing shortly, however, in western districts, and some rain tomorrow in western and southern portions of the South Island. Temperatures also will become warmer.
