Owing to heavy rain yesterday afternoon, loading operations at the port were considerably hampered, and the vessels will consequently be delayed. The Holmdale, which arrived on Sunday, is expected to sail to-day for Lyttelton, with Wellington and Wanganui cargo. The Opihi made port at 5 o’clock last night from the south, but did not commence loading her Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth cargo. Under favourable conditions she should get away for Lyttelton to-day. The Breeze is expected this morning from Oamaru, to load for Wellington and Wanganui. The Wainui is now due on Wednesday from Oamaru, to load for Wellington, Napier and Gisborne. Wellington and Auckland cargo should be taken north by the Waimarino, which is scheduled to arrive on Friday from Dunedin. Overseas. The Argyllshire should sail about Wednesday for Lyttelton, on completion of Homeward loading. The liner Rotorua is expected to leave Port Chalmers early this morning, and should arrive in the roadstead this afternoon. She is to load frozen meat and general cargo for Home ports. MOERAKI SAILS.
