UGLY SITUATION IN CHANGSHA. United Press Association—Bv Electric Telegraph—Copyright HONGKONG, August 1. Reports reaching Hongkong relate many ghastly stories of Communist atrocities at Changsha, the Red troops having massacred 300 wealthy Chinese following futile demands for money. The Communists are now sweeping southwards from Changsha, where there has been a slaughter of residents and wholesale looting and burning.
