NO CONFESSION
DYING STATEMENT OF MUNN. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 1. The decision not to publish the document handed to the prison authorities by Arthur Thomas Munn, shortly before his execution at Auckland on Tuesday, was announced by the Minister of Justice (Hon. J. G. Cobbe). The statement reached the Minister yesterday, and he perused the contents. “There was nothing worth reading in the statement, and no purpose would be served by, its publication.” said Mr Cobbe. The Minister added that no confession had been made. As was indicated earlier by the Controller -General of Prisons, Mr R. L. Dallard, the statement merely traversed the evidence given in the Supreme Court.
