MINIATURE RIFLES. The weekly shoot of the Pleasant Point Miniature Rifle Club was again well attended, 31 members competing for the Bowman weekly button, and a trophy donated by the Club. Stevenson. BASKETBALL. A and B teams from the Poini Basketball Club journeyed to Temuka on Thursday, and contested games with the Temuka Club. Point won ti«. A grade by 5 to 3, and Temuka the B grade by 9 to 8. FOOTBALL CLUB. The committee of the Football Club met to make arrangements for the annual seven-a-side tournament. It was decided to run senior, junior, third, fourth and fifth grades in the afternoon section, commencing at 2 p.m., with medals for t.he winners in each grade, and the handsome Mt. Cook Challenge Cup for the team that plays the best football in the senioi, junior and third grade sections. In the schools section, it was decided to run a district high schools’ competition and 3 primary schools’ grades —8 stone and under; 6st. 71b and under; and sst. and under.
