PEER FOREST.
LIBRARY SOCIAL. The fortnightly social held at Peel Forest in aid of the Library Fund was again very successful. Mrs Popplewell and Miss C. Lewis tied for the ladies’ prize, and in the final, Mrs Popplewell proved the winner. Three tied for the men’s prize, Messrs F. Ritchie, Jenkins and F. Henry. Mr Ritchie ultimately proved the winner. The consolation prizes were won by Miss Bates and Mr J. Lewis. RIFLE CLUB. The following were the best scores at the weekly shoot of the Peel Forest Men’s Miniature Rifle Club on Tuesday evening:—G. Wooding 77, O. Keen 77, F. Cain 75, N. Pithie 74, G. Fifield 74, P. Evans 75, F. Stevenson 75, G. Upritchard 73.
