WAIMATAITAI RELIEF WORK.

To the Editor of the " Timaru Herald.” Sir, —Something should be said about the method of choosing men for the Waimataitai unemployment relief works. Why is it that butchers from the freezing works, who have been employed since New Year, till about a month ago, have been taken for the unemployed works, while others have had no work in that time and have had their names registered for four and five months, have to wait still. We were told when we handed our names in at the Borough Council, that we would get work in our turn, which seemingly has not been done. Hoping some abler pen than mine will take this up.—l am, etc. UNEMPLOYED.
