FAIRLIE.

DOMAIN BOARD The annual general meeting of the Fairlie Domain Board was held on Friday last. The chairman, Mr J. Caskey, presided. The balance sheet, which was returned certified as correct from the Auditor-General, showed a small credit balance. The chairman reported that during the year routine work had been carried out. Gorse and willows had been cut and cleared, and the grounds generally had been kept in good order. The thanks of the Board were due to the Mackenzie County Council for the use of their motor-mower which had helped considerably. The Domain at present was in very good order. In moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, Mr J. Bray said that Mr Caskey was to be complimented on the work he had done, and on the fine appearance of the Domain. Ml* Caskey was unanimously reelected chairman of the Board. Mr C. J. Talbot made reference to the success achieved by Mr Caskey as chairman of the Board. Mr Caskey thanked, the speakers for their kind remarks, and said that he would be pleased to again act as chairman. Mr G. Lyons was appointed a member of the Board to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr Hammond who had left the district. The Board now consists of Messrs. J. Caskey, C. J. Talbot. H. Carlton, J. Brady. W. Scott, W. Close, H. Welsh. D. Jeune, G. Lyons and J. A. Fraser, (secretary). The Weather Following frosty weather, snow fell on Monday at mid-day and continued till about 8 p.m., the total fall in the town being about three inches. Geaney, manager of the representative team that recently visited Waimate reported that the team were hospitably entertained by the Waimate Sub-Union.—A vote of thanks was , passed to the Waimate Sub-Union. The sum of 15 - was donated to the Mt. Nessing school towards the cost of I a football. ; A letter was received from the South Canterbury Rugby Union, submitting dates for ‘the annual representative m tches Mackenzie v. South Canterbury.—lt was decided that the first match be played at Fairlie on 9th August, and the return match at Timaru on 30th August. It was decided that the match for the Eurnett Shield between the Southern and Fairlie Clubs be played at Fairlie on 7th August if suitable to the former club. The secretary of the Geraldine Football Club wrote asking if the SubUnion could send a team to play a match against a Geraldine district team at Geraldine.—The Geraldine Club to be advised that if suitable to them a team could be sent on a date after 16th August. It was decided also to ask if a return match could be played at Fan ie. FOOTBALL. Teams for Sub-Union games to-day are:— Acrangi seniors (v.
