THE WEATHER.
Mr F. L. Wooles. Wind moderate to fresh easterly to southerly; weather cold and changeable, with an occasional scattered shower likely. Dominion Meteorologist. The cyclone is now centred north of East Cape. An anti-cyclone is moving across the Tasman Sea. Expect winds southerly, and moderate to strong generally, reaching gale force at times in places from Cook Strait northwards. Seas rough on all the East Coast and north of Farewell Spit. Weather mainly fine in western districts, and the interior of the South Island; elsewhere still unsettled, with further showers —heavy in Hawke’s Bay to Bay of Plenty districts, but improving slowly. Temperatures cold.
