AIR MAILS.
SERVICE WELL PATRONISED. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, July 17. The service which has been inaugurated for the utilising of air mail services in Australia, Canada and the United States, and the London-Karachi route, has been very well patronised, according to statements made by officials of the Post and Telegraph Department. Philatelists have been active, but the officials do not know to what extent nevertheless the idea of using the air mail is growing, and the amount of mail for conveyance by air services is increasing. Especially valuable is the Karachi-London service, which saves from three to ten days when considered alongside Vancouver route, the saving varying according to the time between the departure of the two mails and the steamer connection between Australia and India.
