PLOUGHING MATCH
TO-MORROW'S FIXTURE.
The success of the Timaru Ploughing matches in the past is a tribute to the enthusiasm of the Ploughing Match Committee, but this year’s match should eclipse the success of previous ones. Not only have the j Committee worked hard to make it ’ better than ever. but champion | ploughmen from all parts have entered, while in the dog trials, some of j the best dogs in New Zealand will j compete. ; Owing to the large number of ! entries, the dog trials will commence j at 9 a.m., and the ploughing match j will start at 10 a.m. It is expected | that the match will finish about 4 ! p.m. In addition to horse ploughing, ! there will be two classes for ploughing |by tractors. There will be demonstraj tions of tractors and-farm implements, j including gorse cutting machines. | The competitions will take place in j a paddock kindly lent by Mr D. i Grant, at Elloughton Grange. Luncheon and afternoon tea will be obtaini able on the ground. After the match the prizes will be presented by Rev. I Clyde Carr, M.P. In the evening a ■ dance will be held in the Washdyke Hall.
