ORARI BRIDGE
MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB. On Monday evening a shooting match was held in the Orari Bridge Hall between the Ladies’ and Men’s Rifle Clubs* and resulted in a win for the men by four points. The following are the scores:— Ladies.—Mrs Tagg 75. Mrs South 75, Mrs Pratt 75. Mrs Pratt 76, Mrs Ivey 73, Mrs Wordsworth 74, Mrs Wordsworth 75, Miss Ford 65, Miss C. Rule 70, Miss J. Rule 75; total 731. Men.-—W. South 78, A. South 76, J. Scully 76. N. South 71, R. Tagg 73, W. Rule 71, A. Titheridge 74, A. Morris 70, R. Ford 71, H. McKenzie 75; total 735. Supper was provided by the ladies. Mr W. South thanked the ladies for their hospitality, and Mrs Wordsworth suitably replied. A meeting of residents of Orari Bridge was held in the hall on Wednesday evening to discuss the holding of a ball. Mr W. Crotty was elected to the chair. Arrangements were made for holding a resident’s ball at an early date. The following committee was elected: —Mesdames F. E. South. C. McDonald and Morris, Miss J. South and Messrs W. Crotty, R. Ford, F. Holdgate, C. Stonyer and A. South. Mrs Morris and Mr C. Stonyer were elected secretaries.
