FRENCH AVIATION SERVICE.
ORDER FOR BRITISH FLYING BOATS. British Official Wireless (Received July 16, 8.30 p.m.) RUGBY. July 16. The French Government has ordered from Messrs Short Brothers, of Rochester, two more "Calcutta” flying boats for the French naval air service. The machines will be mainly constructed of metal and will be equipped with three engines of the well-known Bristol-Jupiter pattern. The order is a sequel to the earlier purchase of a Calcutta flying boat, which has given extremely satisfactory service.
