ITALIAN CONVICTED OF MANSLAUGHTER. United Press Association—By Electric Tel egraph—Cou yr < pth t (Received July 16. 8.30 p.m.) BRISBANE. July 16. An Italian named Giovanni Maggiori, who was convicted of the manslaughter of Mrs Margaret Furst at Applethorpe, was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment. His defence was that the woman assailed him. and he accidentally killed her in self defence.
