THE WEATHER A very severe frost was experienced in Waimate on Sunday night. 16 degrees of frost being registered. Mr and Mrs J. H. Mitchell, “Kenwyn,” Studholme, will leave on Tuesday on a trip to England. Mr Mitchell has not been in the best of health lately. Mr and Mrs Mitchell will accompany Captain Beighton on the Ferndale, the captain being Mr Mitchell’s cousin. This is but the second time in twenty years that Captain Beighton has visited New Zealand, and it was only because the Ferndale could not get sufficient cargo in Australia that the call to the Dominions was made this time.
