BURNED TO DEATH. By Telegraph —Press Association PALMERSTON N., July 13. A fatal fire occurred at Levin just after mid-night on Saturday, when a single man named George Alfred Widdows (47), was trapped in a one-room-ed building with only one door and two small windows. When firemen were able to penetrate through the flame and fumes, deceased’s body was found near the door. Deceased was a returned soldier. He was a builder's labourer, a native of I .on ri on. and had been in Levin for about *3O years.
