A sheep called the Mule or North umberland is obtained by using a Boi der-Leicester ram on a Scotch Black faced ewe.
A consignment of 24 sheep loaded i a special motor-track evolved by Si Edward Mitchell, KC., was successfull carried from Melbourne to Sydney, las month, says the Pastoral Review, an on slaughtering was found to be i: good condition. The sheep, which wer trussed down, in a semi-recumben position, with canvas contrivances were 52 hours on the journey, stoppin, once for feed and water.
