GIVE HER GLOVES.
Gloves are the very thing for her—but do give her new and original ones. For the fashion in gloves has never been more “French” and, therefore, attractive than at present. The old-fashioned three lines on the back of the glov6 are really “dead” now, and uncommon designs have taken their place. An evening glove of coloured kid is edged (scallopwise) with silver kid, while long, slim lines are traced on the back in silver thread. For day wear stitching this time takes the form of tiny coloured dots.
Even heavier sports gloves are gaily embroidered, please! And if the donor should want really to shine in his lady’s eye, then let him tuck a glove bracelet into the gift, too—lizard-skin for day wear and diamante for evening!
A tiny gold dagger attached to a chain is the novel ornament used to trim the side of a smart pair of black suede shoes.
