Occasion was taken on Tuesday last at the Presbyterian Sunday School Class to farewell Mr and Mrs 'A. Botting and family, who are leaving to take up their residence at Hilton. Mr A. J. Davey, who presided over a large gathering of teachers, spoke feelingly of the esteem in which the Botting family were held, and the loss suffered by the Church and Sunday School through their departure. No one had had the youth work of the church so warmly at heart than had Mr Botting; and his thoroughness in all he undertook set the seal of success upon his work. Mrs Botting, t„o, had rendered most efficient service to the Sunday School. Both carried away the deepest respect and best wishes of their fellow teachers. Mrs A. Meek and Mr J. L. White also spoke, eulogising the good work Mr and Mrs Botting had done for the church. Mr Davey then presented Mr and Mrs Botting with a handsome seagrass chair. Responding, Mr Botting thanked Mr Davey and his fellow teachers for the kindly expressions of goodwill that had been passed, and for the tangible expression of that goodwill which they had been so kind as to give. Mrs Botting and he would always remember with pleasure their association with the Sunday School. He believed that its success lay in no small measure in the good feeling that existed among the large stall of teachers who engaged so loyally in the work.- He wished the School continued success, and hoped to frequently meet the many friends there made on future occasions. . Supper was then handed round by .the ladies. t is ~ "RETURN OF SHERLICK HOLMES.” SATURDAY. 1 . Perhaps the most famous “detective” in the world is Sherlock Holmes. It is many years since Conan Doyle wrote the famous stories of Sherlock Holmes, which made him famous, and now, after many years of popularity the detective comes to the screen through the Paramount picture. “The Return of Sherlock Holmes.” In this Holmes, at the request of his friend, Dr. Watson, comes to the aid of his daughter and in his last exploit, is able to silence the activities of that arch criminal Moriarty. The character of Sherlock Holmes is brought to life after years of inactivity by Clive Brook, the distinguished English actor, who is supported by an excellent cast. Another chapter of “The Final Reckoning" will be screened with other supports. THE OPTICAL SPECIALIST. The Optical Specialist of John R. Procter’s, Ltd.
