At the wool sales 10,098 bales of wool were offered, including 3516 bales of New Zealand wool. About 8180 bales were sold. There was a good selection of greasy Merinos, principally spinners’ wools, and a good supply of the fine medium greasy cross-breds. There was brisk competition for Merinos, which occasionally were slightly dearer than yesterday. Cross-breds were fully firm. New Zealand lots sold as follows: Greasy cross-breds WP—P (top price 10J), average 92d; Mataura (10id), 9£; half-bred, Macdonald Downs (122 d), 113 d; Merino, Muller (Hid), lid.
