ACCIDENT AT SAWMILL. By Telegraph— Assoo^tion HOKITIKA, July 9. A serious accident occurred at Messrs Brown and Neilson’s sawmill, Upper Kokatahi, this morning. Thomas Brown, junior, one of the proprietors, was struck on the head by a piece of timber, and sent to hospital suffering from severe concussion. His condition is serious. CHILD DROWNED IN TRENCH. By Telegraph—Press Association HAMILTON, July 9. Yesterday William Rowland Hammond, aged one year and nine months, was drowned at a Public Works camp, about three miles from Raglan. He fell into a trench which had been dug for use as a rubbish tip, and filled with water. His mother is employed as a cook at the camp.
