The chief secretary of the Burma Government published this message: “The deputy commissioner at Sandoway says that the search for Messrs Hook and Matthews is progressing, but is practically hopeless among the uninhabited hills. No promising news has been received from any quarter. It is fear°l the death of the airmen must be presumed in the inpenetrable jungle or over the sea.
