By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, July 9. The New Zealand Referees’ Appointment Board has appointed the following referees for the remaining matches against provincial teams to be played by the British Rugby team:— Hawke’s Bay, at Napier—Mr W. Grantham (of Wairarapa). Poverty Bay-East Coast—Mr G. A. Maddison (Hawke’s Bay). Auckland—Mr J. Moffitt (Wellington). North Auckland—Mr N. Kronfield (Auckland). Waikato—Mr S. Weston (North Auckland). SEATS FOR FOURTH TEST. COUNTRY PATRONS ‘‘LET DOWN BADLY.” By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, July 9. Replying to Mr J. Prendeville, in regard to seats for the Fourth Rugby Test at Wellington,. Mr J. W. Norrie, chairman of the Hawke’s Bay Union, said:— ‘‘We only want Mr Dean and Mr Prendeville to carry out the definite promise given at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Union, that a definite quota would be allotted to each outside Union.” Mr Norrie added that the Wellington Union was running the match on behalf of the New Zealand Union, and that it was a national match, not a Wellington affair alone. The number of seats allotted for patrons outside Wellington therefore was out of all proportion. Mr Prendeville’s own figures condemned him. The Wellington Union was considering the match rather much from the point of view of its own patrons, whereas it was from the point of view of patrons of the New Zealand Union that the question should be approached. Mr Norrie concluded by reiterating that the feeling outside Wellington was that country patrons had been let down badly.
