ANOTHER ROAD FATALITY. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, July 7. Fatal injuries were received by Lawrence James Allen (7i), son of Peter Allen, of Otahuhu. when, he was knocked down by a motor-car when crossing the Great South Road. The boy received severe head injuries, and died shortly after admission to hospital. FATALLY INJURED. By Telegraph—Press Assoc-, a tier.. WELLINGTON, July 7. Admitted to hospital on Sunday afternoon with head injuries, after having been knocked down by a motor-car. at the corner of Boulcott and Willis Streets, Miss Evelyn Hay, aged fifty, of Ohiro Road, died at 8.45 the same evening. TRAM AND CAR COLLIDE. By Telegraph—Pre*a -Association. WELLINGTON, July 7. When a car was travelling down Goa Street at 1 o’clock yesterday morning, and had reached the junction with Moxham Avenue, it struck the last tram to Kilbirnie sideways on. The motor car was extensively damaged. and all the occupants were more or less seriously injured. Miss Gwen Jenkins (18), of 144 Rakau Road, suffered injuries to the left hip. and shock. Miss May Hanna (32), Cleveland ! Street, received injuries to the head, i concussion and shock. Both were ad- : mitted to hospital.
Miss Alma Hanna suffered from shock only, and the driver of the car, whose name is not known, but who is understood to live in Wilson Street, received a lacerated wound to the scalp. He also was taken to hospital, but after having his head dressed, was abls to go to his home. M.P. INJURED. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 7. When returning to his farm at Waikanae on Saturday, in company with his son, Peter, Mr W. H. Field, M.P., had a narrow escape from serious injury when his car collided with a motor lorry near Pahautanui. He was badly shaken, his chest was crushed and both legs were lacerated below the knee. CHILD BURNED. By Telegraph—Press Association. WANGANUI, July 7. A baby. Norma Drummond, seventeen months, playing with a doll in front of a fire while the mother was in the washhouse, was badly burned about the face, neck and hands this morning. FATALLY INJURED. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND. July 7. While crossing a road in Newmarket this afternoon, William John Robert Garrard (57). of Epsom, was knocked down by a motor-car, and died in hospital from head injuries. * ACCIDENT IN PLAYGROUND. Rex Ferguson George 's>. son of Arthur George, of the city, fell from a chute in the children’s playground in Victoria Park, and struck his head, receiving injuries and concussion. His condition is fairly serious.
