FIRES.
VULCANISER BURNT OUT. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 20. A few minutes after 5 o’clock this morning, a Are was discovered at Dixon Streret, in a two-storey wooden building used by H. L. Williamson, and owned by Messrs Burch and Mitchell. The premises were formerly wellknown as the Phoenix dining rooms and boarding house. The flames had a strong hold when the alarm was given, and the building and contents were severely damaged by fire and water. The stock-in-trade was insured for £768, and the machinery for £122. The insurance on the building was £350.
