By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 19. The Harbour Board’s tractor went cvet- the Pipitea wharf into 46 feet of water this morning, taking the driver, G. T. McNamara, with it. He escap.d with abrasions and shock. The cause of the accident was a beam being hoisted to the wharf fouling a rake of trolleys, and dragging the tractor over. HIT BY CAR. By Telegraph—Press Association. CAMBRIDGE, June 19. In the early hours of this morning a fatality occurred on the main road, at Karapiro, about three miles from Cambridge, when Robert Adams, about 30, single, was knocked off a bicycle through a collision with a car, and killed almost instantaneously. He sustained shocking injuries, including the left arm badly fractured, a leg broken at the thigh, and grievous wounds in the face. Deceased was cycling to Cambridge. It is surmised that his cycle skidded in loose sand, and evidently the car went right over the man and cycle. The car driver, James Oliver Barnett, of Putaruru, sustained a gash over the temple, and is suffering from shock. A companion, Malcolm Angus, was uninjured, but is suffering from shock.
