TRADE WITH CHINA
CANADA’S NEW MARKETS. (United Press Association—By Btobtilo Telegraph—Copyright.) OTTAWA. May 30. A separate subsidised cargo steamship service to China from Vancouver is likely, according to an announcement by Mr J. Malcolm, Trade Minister. Regarding the estimates for an Australia-British Columbia service, the Minister suggested that China should be added. He said the service since inaugurated had practically doubled the shipments of lumber to Australia. Canada had been unable, however, to market lumber in Australia during the past four months, and would apparently have to go to other ports of call.
