MOTOR FATALITY. TRUCK GOES OVER BANK. By Telegraph—Press Association. NAPIER, June 1. Two men were killed, one seriously and one slightly injured when a motor truck went off the road in the vicinity of Waikari. and down a hundred foot bank to the creek bed below on Saturday afternoon. Those killed were;— Alexander Mclntosh, aged about 45. farmer, of Putorino, married with six children. William Johnston, aged 25 years, farm labourer, of Putorino, whose parents reside in Dannevirke. Those injured were:— A. E. Porter, farmer, of Putorino. He was seriously hurt, and was conveyed to the Napier hospital. V. J. Barry, farmer, of Putorino, who suffered bruises and shock, but was able to proceed to his home. Porter was the driver of the lorry, and the party were returning from a meeting of the Domain Board, of which Barry is chairman. Half a mile after leaving Waikari, on the Napier-Wairoa Road, at a cutting considered to be dangerous, because the driver’s view is obstructed, they met a car driven by a man named Holden, an employee at the Kotemaori tunnel.

An elderly lady named Mrs Marchant was thrown from a cycle through j a collision with a car. She received i slight concussion and severe shock. j A pedestrian. Miss Bragg, was J knocked down by a car, and sustained ( an extensive laceration of the scalp ; and concussion. I An auctioneer, Mr McDonald, driving 1 a car, ran into a train at the Branxholm crossing near Invercargill. He escaped with a lacerated scalp and fractured ribs. YOUTH FOUND DEAD. By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN. May 31. A young man named Robert Callander, 17 years of age. was found dead in a ditch at Tahatika, nine miles from Owaka, on Saturday afternoon.
