AUCKLAND JUDGE'S ADVICE TO POLICE. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND. May 29. “While I am speaking on this topic,” said Mr Justice Herdman, in dealing with a prisoner at the Supreme Court this morning who had committed a series of indecent offences upon young boys and girls,” I would like to observe that I think it is high time the police exercised some supervision over our parks and domains. While I was passing through the Domain, as I very often do, I was met by one of the gardeners, who told me he had been pursuing some man who had been Interfering with children. A day or two later, he told me of an almost similar incident, and suggested that there should be some police protection given to women and children who patronise the domains and parks. There is no police supervision, and I make this observation because the parks and domains are not protected, and they are therefore not made safe to women and children.”
