ABSCONDING BANKRUPT.

LOCATED IN AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph—-Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 29. The machinery of the law has succeeded in capturing at Sydney, Bert Thomas, a bankrupt, who decamped from New Plymouth several weeks ago, after he had been served with a bankruptcy notice. Thomas had been engaged at Mangorei as a farmer, and owed about £450 to creditors. He sold his farm for about £3OOO, receiving over £IOOO in cash. Several weeks elapsed before an order of adjudication was made, and whe nthat eventuated, and when a warrant had been issued, it was found that Thomas had disappeared. Mr R. H. Quilliam, solicitor for the creditors, has received advice that Thomas has been arrested, and a New Plymouth constable Will leave to bring Thomas back under extradition proceedings.
