HOUSEHOLDERS’ MEETINGS.

ANNUAL ELECTION OF SCHOOL COMMITTEES. GLEN-ITI. At the annual meeting of Glen-iti I householders, only a small number were present. The balance sheet and report disclosed a satisfactory position, the headmaster and staff being complimented on the year’s work. The following Committee was elected:—Mr J. McArthur (chairman). Mr G. Ramsay (secretary), and Messrs C. Morse, A. Armit and J. Keenan. ORARI. The following were elected as the new Committee: —Messrs S. R. Trumper (chairman), A. Rysdale (secretary), S. R. Muff, J. . Priddle, P. Hobbs, E. P. Chambers, H. Maxwell. ORARI BRIDGE. At the householders’ meeting, the j following Committee was elected: — Messrs J. South, F. C. South, W. Ford, F. Pratt (chairman), and Mrs Lyons. WOODBURY. Messrs J. Fifield (chairman), F. Fifleld (secretary), J. Rice, T. M. McKenzie and B. Baker were elected. MORVEN. There were 17 householders present at the Morven School The chairman reported that a new concrete path had been put in leading to the school, pot holes in the asphalt had been filled, and the whole of it top-dressed. A gramophone, a lawn mower and a few smaller items had been purchased by the Committee during the year. On a call for nominations for the Committee, Mrs Callery and Messrs Callery, Horsnell, Stan Bailey and Clearwater were elected. Mr Clearwater was appointed chairman, and Mr Callery secretary. WAIHAORUNQA. At the annual meeting at Waihaorunga, Mr H. M. Whatman occupied the chair, in the presence of a fair attendance of residents. Accounts amounting to £l7/2/10 were passed. The following were elected to the Committee:—Messrs W. Armstrong, T. Colville, J. C. Hurst, M. Ryan, and H. M. Whatman. ] At a subsequent meeting Mr What- > man was appointed chairman, and Mr W. Armstrong treasurer. TAWAI. There was a fair attendance of householders at Tawai, when Mr E. P. Willetts presided. The following Committee was elected:—Messrs E. P. Willetts (chairman), E. Corbett (secretary), G. Tomlinson, J. Nolan and W. Devlin. DOUGLAS. There was a good attendance at Douglas. The balance sheet showed the financial position to be satisfactory. The improvements effected to the school during the year were greatly appreI dated by the staff. The chairman thanked Mrs Fee and Mrs T. Armstrong for arranging the Christmas party for the children. Mr and Mrs Fee were thanked for their valuable assistance to the Committee during their term of office, and were assured that they would be greatly missed from the district. The following Committee was elected:—Messrs W. H. Hodgen (chairman), G. L. Harrison (secretary), T. H. Ward, T. Armstrong and Mrs ansen.
