WOMEN AND EMPIRE GAMES. By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, April 28. The following resolution was carried at a meeting of the Auckland Swimming Centre to-night:— “ That this Centre protests strongly against the bann on nominations of lady competitors by the British Empire Games Committee in Wellington, and regards it. with considerable apprehension in view of the prominent part taken by ladies in the sport of swimming. Further, that the Centre urges the Council of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association to leave no stone unturned to secure the removal of the restriction.”
