NOTES. The Progress, which put into port on Sunday, loaded yesterday for Wellington. New Plymouth and Waikato Heads, and sailed in the evening for Lyttelton.

The Kaimiro was to have left Dunedin yesterday, for Oamaru. Timaru. Lyttelton and Wellington, en route lor Nelson. New Plymouth and Westport. She is due here this morning. The Wainui has now been put baok till May 30. on which day she is expected from Dunedin, to load for Wellington. Napier and Gisborne. The Opihi is expected to load at Westport to-day for JTimaru. Oamaru and Dunedin. Her date of arrival at this port Is not yet notified.' The agents notify that the Calm should reach here to-day. from the south, to take on Wellington and Wanganui cargo. The Kutoa sailed from Auckland on April 26. for Wellington. Lyttelton. Dunedin and Timaru. The vessel is listed to arrive here about May 3. to discharge and load for Wellington and Auckland. The Kiwitea is to load at Hobart early in May for Blufl. Dunedin, Timaru, Lyttelton. Wellington. Auckland and New Plymouth.

The Kalingo Is to load at Sydney on April 30, via Coff's Harbour and Newcastle. for Wellington, Timaru, Wanganui and Greymouth. The Breeze is notified for May 3. from Oamaru. to take on general cargo for Wellington and Wanganui. To load for Wellington and Wanganui. the Holmdale is scheduled for May 1. A sister ship, the John, to load for Wellington and Waikato Heads, is listed for May 2. Overseas.

The Tairoa. which arrived from Lyttelton on Sunday, with general cargo from Home to discharge here, is expected to sail for Dunedin tonight. The Kla Ora is now set down to arrive at Timaru about May 1. At Timaru, the vessel will discharge, and afterwards load for Home ports. The Cambridge, en route from Liverpojl, cleared the Panama Canal on April 17. She is due at Auckland on M 6, and later proceeds to Wellingt .1. Lyttelton, Dunedin and Timaru, to complete discharge. The Cumberland is to sail from I : crpool on June 7 for Auckland, -Napier. Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Timaru.

The Hororata is expected at Timaru about June 9. to load meat and general cargo for Southampton and London. Dalgety and Co. notify that they expect the Coptic at Timaru towards the end of May, to load cargo for Homs pores. The New Zealand Shipping Company s motor liner Rangiciki. which left Wellington at 6.30 on Saturday mornin ’ for South*)nvpton and London, via t Panama Canal, carried a record r-'. mber o/ passengers leaving New Zealand fo. England by a direct steamer. There were 290 third-class and 75 second-class booked by Thursday and the usual last-minute bookings would probably bring this to over the 500 mark. The Union Company’s steamers, Marama and Makura. which changed p.accs in the intercolonial and transpacific mail services as a result of a mishap to the Makura on a voyage from Sydney which she commenced on 20th March, will resume their normal running early next month.
