BOLSHEVIKS GROW BOURGEOIS
NOVEL MOTOR CAR OF THE RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR. A special salloon car fitted with a dictaphone has been ordered from a leading manufacturer in England by the new Russian Ambassador to Britain. The car is fitted with a selfchanging four speed gearbox and the dictaphone has been installed in a convenient position in the rear seat in order that M. Sokolnikoff can conduct his correspondence while travelling. The body is painted black; and, unlike other ambassadors’ cars, there is no crest or coat-of-arms on the panels. The Russian crest is the sickle and scythe. Russia has followed the example of British practice in the type of official car used, for the British ambassadors in fifteen capitals throughout the world all run Armstrong-Siddleleys.
