DUNEDIN WEEK-END REPORT. WHEAT SELLING FREELY. By TilofrapJi—Praia Auociatien. DUNEDIN, April 24. The long spell of dry weather is facilitating threshing operations, and offerings of wheat are being made freely. The great bulk of deliveries has been of good milling quality, and no difficulty is being experienced in disposing of the crop to millers. There is no change in market values, and millers are paying Pool prices for both “free” and Pool wheat.

Millers are purchasing oats freely, and prices for heavy oats of milling quality have firmed slightly. Current values to farmers are 3/2, sacks extra, on trucks. The bulk of the offering is of milling quality and some splendid samples have been offered. On a shipping basis, ordinary A Grade Gartons are worth 3/1 on trucks, and 3’s 2/11.

Only prime quality chaff is ill demand, selling at £5/5/- ex truck. Some shipping has been done to northern ports, but not to any extent, as farmers generally are not selling at prices which will allow local merchants to compete with Blenheim and Canterbury. Cutting has not yet become general. Consignments of potatoes are arriving freely. Sales a being made at £5/5/- ex truck for ehcice quality. The seed market continues quiet. There is not the usual demand from the North Island for ryegrass, and the high prices which were ruling for fanners’ lines early in the season are no longer obtainable.
