Filling’ Vice-Regal Posts. AUSTRALIA’S ARRESTING DECISION. (United Press Association—By Electrlo Welegraph—Copyright.) (Received April 25, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, April 24. “The Daily News” points out that the foreshadowed appointment of Sir Isaac Isaacs, as Governor-General of Australia, means a constitutional revolution. The report caused surprise in London, and embarrassment at the Dominion’s Office, where complete ignorance is professed. The paper adds: “What is causing comment is the report that the post has Been offered to anyone, presumably by the Australian Government, thus putting aside all precedents and convention. CANADA INTERESTED. DUKE OF YORK MENTIONED IN OTTAWA. (United Press Association—By Electrlo Telegraph—ConyrlKlit.) The report that an Australian has been recommended as GovernorGeneral of the Commonwealth has revived gossip here as to who will succeed Lord Wellington, at the expiration of his term next year. It has frequently been suggested that the Duke of York will be named, and he is likely to be the first choice of the Canadians. In case this is impossible, the question of the appointment of a Canadian undoubtedly will be given consideration, and the name of Sir Robert Borden is often mentioned.
