LIFE OF CRIME. By Telegraph—Press Association. HAMILTON, April 10. Two years imprisonment with hard labour was imposed on Frederick Rushing, aged 36, when he appeared in the Hamilton Supreme Court on a charge of issuing valueless cheques for £7. It was stated that accused had a long list of previous convictions. Mr Justice Smith remarked that the accused had been living a life of crime since 1924. As far back as 1917 there were convictions against him. If he was again convicted he would be declared a habitual criminal.
