KIRK-WINDEYER CUP. SHIRLEY LINKS APPROVED. By Telegraph Association. CHRISTCHURCH. April 9. Although the Kirk-Wyndeyer Cup matches were definitely allocated to the Christchurch Club links at Shirley this year, it was not until Dr. Sydney Jones and Alex Russell, captains of the New South Wales and Victorian teams, had played over the course to-day. that it was definitely decided that the matches should be played here. There has been a prolonged dry spell, and the link's were dry in consequence, but otherwise in excellent order. Jones and Russell declared that they are satisfied with the course, and the matches will begin on Monday. The order of play will be: — Monday and Tuesday, Victoria v. New Zealand. Wednesday and Thursday—Winners v. New South Wales.
