THE WEATHER.

F. L. Wooles. Wind fresh, south to south-east, weather unsettled, with rain at times, and cold. Dominion Meteorologist. The cyclone referred to yesterday is now crossing the Dominion, but is only shallow. Pressure is rather high over south-eastern Australia. Expect winds northerly and moderate over most of the North Island south of Auckland; elsewhere moderate to fresh southerlies, gradually becoming general. Seas rather rough south of East Cape, but elsewhere smooth to moderate. Weather cloudy and unsettled generally, with some rain in most districts; mist or fog on parts of the East Coast, but improving soon from the west and north. Cool temperatures.
